☆ VISUAL: Johnny is a mutant who looks to be in his mid thirties. Looking at his face, his eyes are his most notable feature - something about them draws people's attention. He has completely white eyes that almost look incandescent in the right lighting. The effect can be slightly unnerving to people who aren't used to it. He has a slightly crooked nose that looks like it's been broken and reset a few too many times, as well as sharp, well defined cheekbones, and callouses. His hair is black, curly, and very thick.

He is a bit on the skinny side for someone that tall. (6'2'') Spending your teenage years living off what you could raid from supply dumps will do that to you. But he's quite obviously in very good physical condition, and his shoulders have broadened out as he's aged. It's the kind of build that develops when you get into firefights on a regular basis for a living. His skin is quite tanned and rough from spending so much time outdoors, and his body is littered with scars he's accumulated over the years. A long winding scar from a knife on his shoulder here, a shrapnel wound on his back there. They all manage to tell a story, and it leads to an impression of a man who isn't afraid to get his hands dirty.

☆ FASHION: Out of his typical green and black kevlycra armor, he likes to keep it simple. A black tank top, thick leather pants, and a pair of solid knee high boots is all he needs. Maybe a jacket if it gets cold. His style is very functional and utilitarian.

☆ VOICE: He's surprisingly soft-spoken for what he is and how dangerous he looks. Instead of the tough, rough voice you'd expect from a bounty hunter, he actually has a clear, strong, tenor voice with a mild English accent. He was brought up in an upper class household in Salisbury until the age of 11, and the vocal mannerisms stayed with him. He speaks quite confidently, and you won't find him stumbling over his words, as he has a lot of quiet, understated conviction in his voice.

He's canonically voiced by Simon Pegg in the Strontium Dog audiodramas, which is actually quite fitting for his character. Here's an example link!

☆ OLFACTORY: He smells like gun oil and leather. Lingering underneath is the scent of pine. According to a vampire, his blood both smells and tastes good.

☆ DEMEANOR: His movements are very controlled and purposeful, and gives the impression of a man confident in his own skin, just wary. Sudden movements will leave him instinctively reaching for his nonexistent holster, but he can definitely loosen up near people he knows and trusts.

Just what it says on the tin, here you can expand on their personality, their manner of thinking, their likes, dislikes, really anything that you feel would fit here, much like I said for the body section. You may write as little or much as you like, however it is best to give enough so that a feel for your character and what they're like is able to be drawn out of the section, as that is what it is for.

SKILLS

Fill in here with information about your characters skills, talents, magics if they possess them. Anything from the more mundane such as weaving, thieving, farming, whatever it is to magical things, or talents related to fighting, even.

Combat — His life hinges on a daily basis on how well he can throw punches and take them. He's at his best in an open, large environment with room to maneuver, and interesting terrain he can take advantage of. (i.e. city streets, bars.) His fighting style is ruthless and instinctive, and he's not reluctant to fight dirty. In the absence of open terrain, electronux, or the element of surprise, Johnny's fighting style close-up is a mishmash of boxing, instinct, and a willingness to take hits and fight through a mouthful of blood.

He favors high kicks, flexible thinking, and the element of surprise. In terms of how well he would match up against other people, he's in very good shape. His build and fighting style is more suited to agility and flexibility, rather than strength. He aims to put people down first, and fast.

However, he would probably do badly in combat against a single opponent in constrained spaces where he can't use his weapons or have space to maneuver. He's also not as skilled as martial artists who've had dedicated formal instruction. He's better with guns than with his fists.

Telepathy — Johnny can emit 'alpha rays' from his eyes that allow him to read people's minds and memories. Lost on coming to Ryslig.

X-ray vision — He can see through walls, clothing, objects, etc. Lost on coming to Ryslig.

Sharpshooting — Johnny is an excellent marksman, capable of firing off ridiculously accurate shots. He has a legendary and wildly exaggerated reputation for a reason.

Fast draw — Capable of snapping off shots from his holster faster than most people.

Tracking/investigation — He's very good at tracking down somebody who may not want to be found, following clues, witnesses, and paper trails to his target.

Martyr complex High pain tolerence — Johnny can take blows and keep on going, despite the pain. Even with gunshots, broken ribs and concussions, he'll keep fighting until he literally can't. Very effective at compartmentalizing pain.

Survival skills — Johnny can survive in the wild, making camp and foraging for his own food.

HISTORY
CHILDHOOD:

John Kreelman was born as the bombs fell. In 2150, 70% of Britain's population are killed when global nuclear war broke out. In the words of the comic itself - "Nobody knows who launched the first missile - but suddenly the whole world went crazy!" All of the world's countries are impacted in some way. John's mother, Diana Kreelman, is caught out in a radioactive strontium rain when she tries to reunite with her family during late stage pregnancy and becomes severely ill. John is born shortly with completely blank white eyes - a fairly minimal mutation, all things told.

Unfortunately, his father is Nelson Bunker Kreelman - an aspiring politician who has been basing his political platform off scapegoating mutants as the reason for society's problems. A number of severely discriminatory anti-mutant laws have been enacted under his direction. Realising that John would undermine his entire campaign, he hides the existence of his mutation by forcing him to wear goggles at all times. He lies to John, and claims that he has an extreme eye condition and if he ever takes his goggles off and exposes them to sunlight, he will die. He confines him to the house, severely isolated from his peers, with little company aside from his sister Ruth, and his ill mother. John grows up believing this wholeheartedly.

When John is 11, his father has no choice but to finally send him to school, as the press is starting to find it suspicious. He is quickly deemed 'the weird quiet kid who sits in the corner a lot', and a bunch of classmates decide to gang up on him. Although he fights back, they succeed in taking his goggles off, only to be scared off by his freakish eyes. John is ecstatic to find he isn't dead, and comes running back home to tell his dad.

Needless to say, his dad isn't happy.

ADOLESCENCE: His father locks him in the cellar, and John's daily routine consists of staring at the wall, sleeping in bed, and eating the food that is delivered to him. Otherwise unoccupied, his mind churns with the thought of escape. He discovers that he can see through things, and move small objects with a lot of effort. Using these skills, he escapes from his cell.

The first thing he does is join the revolutionary Mutant Army. Skeptical at first, they have no choice but to accept him once he demonstrates the usefulness of his powers. From the ages of 12 to 17, he learns how to use a stub-gun, takes parts in raids and attacks, and works to protect the segregated mutant population. He eventually becomes the second-in-command to General Armz, of the South West division, who becomes his father figure.

In the meantime, his father has been busy enacting even more harsh anti-mutant laws. Curfews, labour camps, and the establishment of a quasi-official police - nicknamed "Kreelers" are established. The Mutant Army push back just as hard, using guerrilla tactics to fight back.

Eventually, after a huge attack on Upminister, the government's central seat of power, the leaders are captured and sentenced to execution with the reveal of the Kreeler's new time weapons. However, with the help of Johnny's sister, they are able to escape. She reveals Kreelman's link with the 17 year old lieutenant Johnny Alpha to the MP and King Clarkie, and Kreelman is forced to resign. They are able to secure a treaty giving mutants limited rights, but the leaders of the revolution have to agree to be exiled from earth. Most of the army departs with them - some settle on distant planets, but a majority join up with the Search Destroy Agency to become bounty hunters.

Johnny Alpha is one of them.
