You had some questions for me? I'm not quite sure what you mean by low undead.
<arthas>
Higher undead have minds of their own, generally. I'm one.
<alpha>
I think. You could call me a higher undead then. They saved me from being. "in thrall" as you phrased it.
<arthas>
What did they do, just kill the necromancer?
<alpha>
8-)
But no. I don't know. I never asked. I think the necromagus was killed, but it didn't do much for me personally. Still dead. Or half dead and dreaming. Whatever the sneck they did to me.
<arthas>
Who was it that did all of this?
We're having a problem at home with our undead breaking free. I'm just trying to figure out if it's something I can fix.
<alpha>
you can probably guess how well that went for me.
A problem with your undead breaking.... free? What exactly the sneck do you mean by that?
<arthas>
The Lich King owns all of the Scourge. All of the dead. They move according to one will.
Except when they don't, and we waste time and troops re-killing them.
<alpha>
I think I'm morally bound to shoot you, but I would really prefer not to. Especially since I'm not going to be paid for it. Please tell me you've been enthralled?
<arthas>
A lot of people think they're morally bound to shoot me, it turns out. No one has succeeded yet.
<alpha>
Like I said, I'm not getting paid, so I won't.
You're doing all this against your will?
<arthas>
Of course, here it wouldn't be productive - we have no interest in conquering a tiny, damp, stinking peninsula. I need to get home. That's where I'm needed.
I go where and do what the master commands. Don't worry about it too much. I don't.
<alpha>
I don't think I need to explain that I disapprove of those things. The last time I tangled with a necromagus, it ended with his head impaled on a stick. Mostly because he tortured me. And he was a bit of an obnoxious twat.
Do you not worry about it because you're incapable of it?
Your master isn't exactly here though. Would you prefer to be free if you could?
<arthas>
I don't worry because I don't have a reason to. The Lich King has shown me true power.
[That's the party line, for sure.]
<alpha>
Power from being enslaved? Must be a lot to be worth it.
<arthas>
<alpha>
<arthas>
[By the method through which princes usually become kings.
Was it Arthas' idea to kill his father? No. Does he care? No. That part of his brain has been nicely novocained.]
<alpha>
[Johnny isn't terribly impressed. Not by the implied regicide, but rather that that was it. There has to be more than that, to be worth selling your soul. Arthas struck him as better than that.]
<arthas>
[it strikes him as mildly hilarious. he has clearly never been a king.]
<alpha>
[To be fair, Johnny leads a very mobile lifestyle, and likes it. He's made round trips across the galaxy. He can't imagine being the ruler of a single country or continent and staying there.]
<arthas>
It might be that I don't age, but it hasn't been long enough for me to tell.
<alpha>
Well, alright. That's certainly something. Sounds very pleasant. Making ice would be nice in this weather.
How hard would it have really been to have killed you?
<arthas>
Very.
<alpha>
That's very wonderful for you. Have you ever survived a decapitation? This is just of curiosity.
<arthas>
A good one, like me, has never had to.
